Terms of Use
In short: the app is licensed under Apple's standard terms. It removes only what you confirm, and keeps it restorable for 7 days by default. Please keep a backup of important files, as you would with any app that removes data.
License
TheCleanDisk from the Mac App Store is licensed to you under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the "Standard EULA"). These terms add a few plain-language points and don't replace it. If anything here conflicts with the Standard EULA, the Standard EULA applies.
Purchases and refunds
Downloads and any purchases are handled by Apple under the Mac App Store's terms. For refunds, use Apple's Report a Problem page.
Using the app
TheCleanDisk shows what takes up space and removes only the items you confirm. Cleaned items wait in quarantine on your Mac for the period you choose so you can restore them. After that period they are permanently deleted.
You're responsible for reviewing what you remove and for keeping backups of important files, for example with Time Machine. Please use the app only on Macs and files you're allowed to manage.
Guides on this website
Our guides explain general ways to manage storage on a Mac. They're for information only. Steps can differ between macOS versions and setups, so back up first and follow them at your own judgement.
No warranty and limits of liability
The app and this website are provided "as is". We work hard to make them accurate and safe, but we can't promise they'll be error-free or suit every setup. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for lost data or other damages arising from your use of the app or the website, as further set out in the Standard EULA. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be limited.
Content and trademarks
The text, images and design of thecleandisk.com belong to TheCleanDisk. You're welcome to link to any page, quote short passages with a link, and use the materials on our press page to write about the app.
